Significant JCT98 with Contractor Design contract to regenerate 67-acre former Severn Trent sewage sludge lagoon site at Minworth, Birmingham.
Project Highlights:
Deployment of Mobile Treatment License to facilitate solidification/stabilisation works, which allowed the modified sewage sludge materials to be retained on site
Groundwater remediation including free-phase removal groundwater polishing and in-situ treatment of hydrocarbon contamination
Leachate capture and treatment
Earthworks operations of 350,000m3 cut and fill to create desired development levels
Installation of cut off wall, large capacity culverts and retaining walls along 600m river frontage
Flood attenuation/ alleviation scheme
River Tame diversion channel
Construction of onsite roads infrastructure, drainage, pumping station and S278 access roads
