Sustainable Technologies

Government targets and associated legislation designed to reduce the UK's CO_2e emissions is becoming more stringent and is set to encourage developers to consider the impact their project will have on the environment.

Buckingham Group Contracting has a core group of professionals who continually assess such legislation, emerging technologies in renewables and advances in building technology to help clients to choose cost effective solutions.

For a project to succeed, it is vital that the building design as a whole is understood as the selection of different types of renewable technology must work in harmony with the building fabric to achieve the desired results.

In addition we have obtained very good and excellent BREEAM ratings for our clients. We also carry out iSBEM calculations to satisfy the requirements of Part L2 of the building regulations and develop the design to ensure that these regulations are met by a combination of either selecting the relevant renewable installation for the project in question and/or considering the building fabric such as air tightness, increase in natural light, sustainable building materials, installation of energy efficient devices controlled by intelligent building management systems to name just a few.
