Design and build of remediation and enhancements on the site of the former Bradford Colliery gasworks and canal basin site, immediately adjacent to the MCFC Etihad Stadium. The works included:

  • Earthworks and Remediation including treatment of contaminated soils and water:
    • Solidification/stabilisation of 80,000m² contaminated soils
    • Bioremediation of over 15,000m³
    • Ex-situ chemical oxidation of 10,000m³ of chlorinated hydrocarbon impacted soils
    • Hydrocarbon LNAPL removal, groundwater polishing and MNA
  • Extensive diversion of 33KV, 6.6KV and MP Gas Mains, whilst retaining existing supplies
  • Mine workings grouted and a 900m deep shaft capped
  • Capping layer created using site derived and produced 6F2 material
  • Breaking out, processing and recovery of concrete, brick, aggregates and other site-won hard materials to create recycled aggregates and fills for re-inclusion within the works
